ACTONEL 5 mg (Daily), ACTONEL 35 mg (Once-a-Week), ACTONEL 75 mg (Two Consecutive Days each Month) and ACTONEL 150 mg (Once-a-Month) are indicated for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. ACTONEL 5 mg (Daily) is also indicated for the prevention and treatment of glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIO) in men and women who are either initiating or continuing systemic glucocorticoid treatment (daily dosage equivalent to 7.5 mg or greater of prednisone) for chronic diseases. ACTONEL 35 mg (Once-a-Week) is also indicated to increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis.
Selected Safety Information:
ACTONEL with Calcium is a prescription medication to treat and prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis. You should not take ACTONEL with Calcium if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, if you have low blood calcium (hypocalcemia), have kidneys that work poorly, or cannot stand or sit upright for 30 minutes. Do not take Calcium tablets if you have high blood calcium (hypercalcemia). If you have had kidney stones, please tell your doctor before you start taking ACTONEL with Calcium.
Stop taking ACTONEL with Calcium, and tell your doctor right away if you experience difficult or painful swallowing, chest pain, or severe or continuing heartburn, as these may be signs of serious upper digestive problems. Follow dosing instructions carefully to lower the chance of these events occurring.
Side effects may include stomach pain, upset stomach, or back, muscle, bone or joint pain, sometimes severe. Contact your doctor for medical advice about side effects, or if you have questions about ACTONEL with Calcium. Promptly tell your doctor if you develop dental problems; there have been rare reports of jaw problems. Calcium may cause constipation, flatulence, nausea, abdominal pain and bloating.

ACTONEL is for the treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis.
Your doctor may also prescribe ACTONEL to help prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis.

You should not take Actonel if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, if you have low blood calcium (hypocalcemia), have kidneys that work poorly, or cannot stand or sit upright for 30 minutes.
